Prepare for a Largest ‘Supermoon’ given 1948
January 25, 2017 - Supermoon
KENTUCKY (11/14/16) — It hasn’t happened in some-more than 60 years.
“It won’t occur again for another 18, so it is a sincerely singular event,” says Robert Milner with a Golden Pond Planetarium.
The event, a supermoon.
“We get a moon that is brighter than normal and appears incomparable than normal,” pronounced Milner.
The moon’s circuit around Earth is elliptical. The moon is closest to earth during perigee and farthest from earth during apogee. The earth will be during perigee during a Nov full moon, formulating a super moon, that will seem adult to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.
“If we locate it on a horizons of course, possibly rising or setting, it could have a red tone to it,” says Milner.
If Mother Nature cooperates, it’s a sky uncover we don’t wish to miss.
