A contingent of absolute folk artists, Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs have assimilated army for a new collaborative album. Entitled simply case/lang/veirs, a record is due out on June 17th around ANTI-.

The singer-songwriters initial came together when lang sent an out-of-the-blue email to a other women. The 3 weren’t accurately friends during a time; in fact, they hardly knew any other personally. Mutual admiration, however, led lang to say, “I consider we should make a record together.” “She illuminated a flare,” Case pronounced in a press release. “She shot it into a atmosphere and we said, ‘Let’s do this.’ Laura and we both responded immediately. There was no question.”

Recorded over dual years in lang and Veirs’ homes in Portland with producer Tucker Martine, a 14-track bid finds impulse in “a supermoon, a tumbledown story of 70s thespian Judee Sill, and a ‘best kept secret’ in Silver Lake.” For a representation of where those puzzling muses led a supergroup, take a listen to lead singular “Atomic Number” below.

Case, lang, and Veirs will support their partnership with a North American debate this summer, including a Jul 22nd date during Newport Folk Festival and one on a 24th during New Jersey’s XPoNential Music Festival. Find their finish channel underneath the case/lang/veirs tracklist below.
