(NASA) – The moon, or supermoon, is seen as it sets over a Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 in Washington.

A supermoon occurs when a moon’s circuit is closest (perigee) to Earth.

Early Monday morning, a moon was a closest it has been to Earth given 1948 and it seemed 30 percent brighter and 14 percent bigger than a normal monthly full moon.

ABOVE VIDEO: Two experts of Martin Luther King’s final speech. He delivered it on Apr 3, 1968, during a Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee. The subsequent day, King was assassinated.
