This weekend’s full moon was a farthest full moon, and a smallest full moon of 2016. We’ve listened it called a micro-moon or mini-moon. Scott Kuhn prisoner this shot of a moon, and posted it to EarthSky Facebook.

This full moon came reduction than one day after reaching lunar apogee, a moon’s farthest indicate in the monthly orbit. It lay some 30 thousand miles (50 thousand km) over from Earth than 2016’s closest full moon – a supermoon – due on Nov 14.
