Final Supermoon Of 2014 On Tap For September

August 18, 2014 - Supermoon

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Sunday night’s supermoon was a brightest and closest to earth in 20 years, though if we missed it, there is still another fantastic full moon is on daub for September.

Supermoons start when a moon is closer than normal to earth. On Sunday night a new moon was 14 percent incomparable and 30 percent brighter than during a normal full moon.

The subsequent supermoon on Sep 9th will be somewhat smaller. The moon rises during 7:52 p.m. in a Bay Area that night and sets during 7:30 a.m. Here’s a great moonrise and moonset tool.

According to superstition, a supermoon has mostly been related to healthy disasters, including many recently, a harmful 8.9-magnitude trembler that strike Japan and Hurricane Katrina. Others trust it increases a woman’s fertility. However, experts contend nothing of this is true.
